iKON, as a group, have gone through a lot as idols, constant comparisons being one of them. As a rapper and a songwriter, B.I is known to use a lot of wordplay in his songs. The word "Dotdae" here could mean the last cigarette in a pack.
We are always told what to do. Be this, be that, don't do that.
This song for me, relates on a level where being out of the box is the way to live - the way B.I talks about how people wanted him and his group to be like every other group and how he stuck to his own ways as an artist.
To be you. That its okay to be you.
I am still trying to find my way of connecting to a song as an artist and in that process, I found this song and boom - a bell dinged somewhere XD.
Had a blast filming this, kudos to my cameraman for being the most patient man ever. Thanks to him, I can now confidently say I can light a matchstick. :P
